Make Your Own Oil Pump Hose

For 91-03 Sportsters

  • For roughly around $20, you can make (or have made) the hose from the oil pump to the filter housing. You'l have to find a shop that has the proper equipment to make the crimp.
  • Parts include:
(1) - Parker 43 Series
(10143-2-4)
1/8“x27 male NPTF rigid crimp fitting for 1/4” hose (Overall length - 1.80“ / 46mm) 1)
(1) - Parker 43 Series
(10643-5-4)
5/16” (1/2“x20 threads) female JIC 37° (straight) swivel crimp fitting for 1/4” hose (Overall length - 2.03“ \ 52mm) 2)
(App. 6”) length - Parker
(471TC-4-RL)
1/4“ / 6.4mm hydraulic hose 3) 2-wire braided synthetic rubber hydraulic hose.
Approved for 43 Series fittings, Min bend radius (2” \ 50 mm), OD (0.51“ / 13mm)
Rated pressure (5800 psi \ 40.0 MPa), ratings (USCG HF / DNV / ABS / MSHA Accepted)
Working oil temp (-40 to +212°F / -40 to +100°C) 4)

  • Notes:
    • Stainless steel fittings must be assembled with Karrykrimp 2, PHastkrimp, Superkrimp or Parkrimp 2 per the manufacturer. 6)
    • The silver die ring must be used when crimping 43 Series Parkrimp fittings onto 471TC or 471ST hoses. 7)


It's not threaded all the way onto the pump because the guy who made the work stand needs to cut some clearance on the front support
