2007-up (EFI) heads have a wider bolt pattern for the intake flanges. ³⁾
It's easier to get to the bolts on 07 and up intakes.
All the 2007+ heads have their manifold mating surfaces milled down about 1/16“ as compared with carb type heads.
If you were to try and put the carb type intake manifold on an 07 engine, you'll find it needs to be about 1/8” wider.
If you don't get a wider manifold, there's a good chance you'll have issues with the seals being sucked into the intake ports on decel.
