IH: Transmission & Final Drive

Between December 16, 1974 and January 7, 1975, a total of 63 mainshaft low (1st) gears (35277-52A) were inadvertently installed in XL/XLCH transmissions without prior heat treatment which gave to noisy gear movement due to accelerated tooth wear. Replacement of these defective gears was recommended only in cases where the customer complained of low gear noise (indicating one of the said gears). ¹⁾
