- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped on the right side of the engine crankcase and on the frame steering head.
- 4A13675H2 is a 1972 XLCH.

XLA
- Harley-Davidson made Military bikes through 1972. It's believed that they made about 30 of them for 1972.
- The XLA bikes were built for the military only and are different from the civilian bikes. They came from Harley-Davidson with:
- Electric start
- Large gas tanks (Turtle Tank) that had smooth sides and did not have the side brackets for the Harley-Davidson emblem.
- They came with Firestone tires, (Not Good-year).
- 16“ rear wheels
- Rear fender rack
- Saddle bags
- Covered shock absorbers
- Windshield (available as an option on civilian models)
- Wider set of handlebars (never offered on a civilian bike)
- Solo seat only available on civilian model through 1970. Harley-Davidson used the Solo seat on all the XLA's.
- 1972 WAS the last year for the XLA's
