- From 1957-1969, the VIN is not stamped on the frame. The numbers stamped on the engine are the only useable VIN numbers.
- From 1970 to present, the frame is stamped with VIN numbers and the engine numbers do not apply to VIN.
- Anti-theft numbers are also printed on some pre-70 frames. 1)

Issues noted in parts catalogs
- -67 catalog only shows a picture of a K Model frame.
- -70 catalog does not show the part number for the 70 H frame.
- 1967-1969 XLH has a -67 part# where 71 XLH has a -67B part#. So 1970 XLH frame may have been a -67A part#.
